TL;DR
This paper investigates the mass spectrum and decay properties of the $$ meson family, proposes assignments for observed states including the new $X(2240)$, and predicts three missing $$ mesons to guide future experimental searches.
Contribution
It provides a systematic analysis of the $$ meson family, assigns observed states, and predicts new states within the framework, enhancing understanding of the $$ meson spectrum.
Findings
Suggested possible assignments for observed $$ states and the $X(2240)$.
Predicted three missing $$ mesons: $(5S)$, $(2D)$, and $(4D)$.
Abstract
Since the present meson family has not been established, in this work, we carry out an investigation of the mass spectrum and Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka a allowed two-body strong decay of the -wave and the -wave mesons, and make the comparison with the experimental data of these reported states and the -like state observed by BESIII. By this study, we not only suggest the possible assignments to these observed states under the framework of the meson family, but also predict three mesons (, , and ) which are still missing in experiment. The present study may provide valuable information to further construct the meson family. Considering the present running status of BESIII, we also suggest that BESIII should pay more attention to the issue of meson with…
