TL;DR
This paper explores how the production of $J/$ and $$ meson pairs at the LHC can be used to probe the internal gluon transverse momentum distributions, providing a new method to study gluon TMDs.
Contribution
It introduces a formalism for accessing gluon TMDs through meson pair production and identifies relevant observables for experimental extraction.
Findings
Identifies $J/$ and $$ pair production as promising probes of gluon TMDs.
Provides a formalism linking observables to gluon TMDs.
Suggests measurable quantities at the LHC for future analysis.
Abstract
We report on how - and -pair production are promising processes to access the polarised and unpolarised gluon TMDs at the LHC. We present the formalism used, as well as resulting observables that could be extracted from data.
