Ki-Young Choi, Eung Jin Chun, Jongkuk Kim

TL;DR
This paper explores how dark matter influences neutrino oscillations, deriving a general formula that accounts for various mediums and mediators, revealing potential effects in precision neutrino measurements.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive formula for neutrino oscillations in dark matter environments, including effects from asymmetries and massless neutrinos.
Findings
Dark matter asymmetry affects neutrino and anti-neutrino oscillations differently.
Standard oscillations can occur from symmetric dark matter even if neutrinos are massless.
The derived formula generalizes the matter effect to various dark matter mediators.
Abstract
We study neutrino oscillations in a medium of dark matter which generalizes the standard matter effect. A general formula is derived to describe the effect of various mediums and their mediators to neutrinos. Neutrinos and anti-neutrinos receive opposite contributions from asymmetric distribution of (dark) matter and anti-matter, and thus it could appear in precision measurement of neutrino or anti-neutrino oscillations. Furthermore, the standard neutrino oscillation can occur from the symmetric dark matter effect even for massless neutrinos.
