Production of $\phi(2170)$ and $\eta(2225)$ in a kaon induced reaction
Xiao-Yun Wang, Jun He

TL;DR
This paper predicts the production cross sections of the strange quarkonium states $oldsymbol{\phi(2170)}$ and $oldsymbol{\eta(2225)}$ in kaon-induced reactions on protons, providing guidance for future experimental investigations.
Contribution
It introduces a theoretical model using an effective Lagrangian and Reggeized t-channel approach to estimate production cross sections of $oldsymbol{\phi(2170)}$ and $oldsymbol{\eta(2225)}$ in kaon-proton reactions, assuming they are $oldsymbol{\Lambdaar{ ext{Lambda}}}$ molecular states.
Findings
Predicted total cross section for $oldsymbol{\phi(2170)}$ production is about 1 μb at 4.2 GeV.
Total cross section for $oldsymbol{\eta(2225)}$ production is smaller, around 0.1 μb.
Reggeized t-channel dominates at forward angles, especially at higher energies.
Abstract
In this work, we study the production of strange quarkoniums, the , also named , and the , via a kaon induced reaction on a proton target in an effective Lagrangian approach. The total and differential cross sections of the reactions and are calculated by the Reggeized -channel Born term under an assumption that the and are molecular states. At the center of mass energies of about 4.2 GeV, the total cross section for the production is predicted to be about 1 b. The numerical results indicate that it is feasible to produce the via kaon beam scattering at the best energy window near 4.2 GeV. The total cross section for the production is smaller than that for the …
