Thought experiments that shed light on the nature of optical linear and angular momenta
Masud Mansuripur

TL;DR
This paper uses classical electrodynamics and relativity to analyze thought experiments that have advanced understanding of light's linear and angular momenta.
Contribution
It provides a conceptual analysis of key thought experiments, clarifying the nature of optical linear and angular momenta.
Findings
Enhanced understanding of light's momentum properties
Clarification of classical and relativistic perspectives
Insight into the conceptual foundations of optical momentum
Abstract
Invoking tools and techniques from elementary theories of classical electrodynamics and special relativity, we analyze some of the thought experiments that have contributed substantively to the conceptual development and understanding of the linear and angular momenta of light.
