Method of Moments Histograms
James S. Weber, Nicole A. Lazar

TL;DR
This paper introduces a method using moments (mean, variance, skewness) to improve the accuracy of uniform bin width histograms in representing data.
Contribution
It proposes a novel approach based on the method of moments to enhance histogram representation accuracy.
Findings
Improved histogram representation accuracy.
Method of moments better captures data distribution.
Potential for more precise data visualization.
Abstract
Uniform bin width histograms are widely used so this data graphic should represent data as correctly as possible. Method of moments based on familiar mean, variance and Fisher-Pearson skewness cure this problem.
