Domagoj Leljak, Blazenka Melic

TL;DR
This paper proposes methods to extract the CKM matrix element |V_{ub}| and test lepton flavour universality in B_c decays using form factors and decay ratios, with predictions for branching ratios and angular observables relevant for upcoming LHC measurements.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to determine |V_{ub}| and test lepton universality in B_c decays by normalizing to other decay channels and providing detailed theoretical predictions.
Findings
Predicted branching ratios: BR(B_c→D^0 μν) ≈ 2.4×10^{-5} and BR(B_c→D^* μν) ≈ 7×10^{-5}
Lepton flavour universality ratios: R_c(D^0) ≈ 0.64, R_c(D^*) ≈ 0.55
Provided q^2 distributions and angular observables for B_c→D^{(*)} l ν decays.
Abstract
In light of prospects for measurements of decays in the upcoming Upgrade II of the LHC, we show that by using calculated form factors competitive extraction of the CKM matrix element from the decay might be possible. To minimize experimental and theoretical uncertainties we provide the ratio by normalizing the to decay. We also briefly examine the suggestion to extract from the theoretically interesting ratio of and decay rates in the zero-recoil limit. With the present average value of , the predicted branching ratios are estimated to be $BR(B_c \to D^0 \mu…
