TL;DR
This paper investigates how a scalar leptoquark could significantly alter the decay rate of B mesons into muons and neutrinos, providing potential signals of physics beyond the Standard Model.
Contribution
It analyzes the effects of a scalar leptoquark on B meson leptonic decays, highlighting possible modifications at TeV-scale masses and considering experimental constraints.
Findings
Scalar leptoquark can significantly modify $B o u ar{ u}$ decay rates.
Current collider and low-energy experiments constrain the leptoquark parameter space.
Potential for observable effects in future B decay measurements.
Abstract
Purely leptonic meson decays provide unique probes for physics Beyond the Standard Model. We study the impact of a scalar leptoquark, , on decay. We find that, for TeV, the leptoquark can modify the rate significantly. Such a leptoquark can in prinicple also alter the rate. However, current searches from LHC and low energy physics provide some constraints on the parameter space.
