Perturbative static quark potential in Maximal Abelian gauge
Matthias Berwein, Yukinari Sumino

TL;DR
This paper computes the static quark potential in SU(N) gauge theory within the Maximal Abelian gauge and its Abelian projection up to two loops, analyzing renormalization and comparing with lattice results.
Contribution
It provides a two-loop perturbative calculation of the static quark potential in a specific gauge and compares it with lattice data, offering insights into gauge dependence and renormalization.
Findings
Two-loop perturbative potential matches lattice results at short distances.
Renormalization properties of the potential are discussed.
Comparison highlights gauge effects on the potential.
Abstract
We calculate the static quark potential for an SU(N) gauge theory in the Maximal Abelian gauge as well as its Abelian projection up to two loops in perturbation theory. We discuss its renormalization properties. The result is compared with a recent lattice result at fm.
