## TL;DR

This paper evaluates Devito's performance on HPC-optimized ARM ThunderX2 processors, showing they can compete with Intel Xeon processors in seismic computational kernels.

## Contribution

It provides the first performance comparison of Devito on ARM ThunderX2 processors against traditional Intel Xeon systems.

## Key findings

- Arm ThunderX2 processors deliver competitive performance for seismic kernels.
- Devito performs efficiently on ARM architecture, expanding its applicability.
- The study highlights potential for ARM processors in high-performance scientific computing.

## Abstract

We evaluate the performance of Devito, a domain specific language (DSL) for finite differences on Arm ThunderX2 processors. Experiments with two common seismic computational kernels demonstrate that Arm processors can deliver competitive performance compared to other Intel Xeon processors.
