## TL;DR

This paper thoroughly examines the shapes of bilateral Gamma densities, focusing on their representations, smoothness, unimodality, and asymptotic behavior to improve understanding of their data fitting capabilities.

## Contribution

It provides a comprehensive analysis of the shapes of bilateral Gamma densities, including their properties and representations, which was lacking in prior work.

## Key findings

- Detailed descriptions of density shapes
- Analysis of smoothness and unimodality
- Asymptotic behavior characterization

## Abstract

We investigate the four parameter family of bilateral Gamma distributions. The goal of this paper is to provide a thorough treatment of the shapes of their densities, which is of importance for assessing their fitting properties to sets of real data. This includes appropriate representations of the densities, analyzing their smoothness, unimodality and asymptotic behaviour.
