## TL;DR

This paper introduces a comprehensive categorical framework for faceted dataflow programs, providing a more expressive diagrammatic language than traditional DAGs, with implications for data transformation tool implementation.

## Contribution

It offers a complete categorical axiomatization and a three-dimensional diagrammatic language for dataflow workflows, surpassing existing DAG-based representations.

## Key findings

- Develops a categorical axiomatization of dataflow programs
- Introduces a three-dimensional diagrammatic language for workflows
- Suggests implementation in data transformation tools

## Abstract

We present a complete categorical axiomatization of a wide class of dataflow programs. This gives a three-dimensional diagrammatic language for workflows, more expressive than the directed acyclic graphs generally used for this purpose. This calls for an implementation of these representations in data transformation tools.
