## TL;DR

This paper explores how boundary conditions in nonabelian gauge theories influence symmetries, currents, and charge algebra, revealing important implications for the structure and behavior of these theories.

## Contribution

It highlights the effects of boundary values on symmetries, currents, and charge algebra in nonabelian gauge theories, providing new insights into boundary-related phenomena.

## Key findings

- Boundary values affect gauge symmetries
- Bulk currents arise with disjoint boundaries
- Charge algebra realization has nuanced features

## Abstract

The boundary values of the time-component of the gauge potential form externally specifiable data characterizing a gauge theory. We point out some consequences such as reduced symmetries, bulk currents for manifolds with disjoint boundaries and some nuances of how the charge algebra is realized.
