## TL;DR

This paper reports the discovery of a new effect in the differential cross sections of proton-proton scattering at 13 TeV, observed through model-independent analysis and supported by the HEGS model, indicating potential insights into quark potentials at large distances.

## Contribution

It introduces a new feature in the differential cross sections at 13 TeV, supported by a model-independent analysis and the HEGS model, suggesting a connection to quark potentials.

## Key findings

- Existence of a new effect in $d\sigma/dt$ at small momentum transfer.
- Model-independent analysis confirms the effect with high confidence.
- HEGS model supports the interpretation related to quark potentials.

## Abstract

Analysis of $d\sigma/dt$ of the TOTEM Collaboration data, carried out without model assumptions, showed the existence of a new effect in the behavior of the hadron scattering amplitude at a small momentum transfer at a high confidence level. The quantitatively description of the data in the framework of the HEGS model support such phenomenon which can be connect with quark potentials at large distances.
