## TL;DR

This paper reflects on Helmut Jürgensen's influence and investigates whether the field of informatics exhibits trend-like behaviors by analyzing job ads and employing economic simulation methods.

## Contribution

It introduces a content analysis of university job advertisements and applies economic simulation techniques to study trends in informatics.

## Key findings

- Informatics shows trend-like behaviors in job market data
- Content analysis reveals patterns consistent with trend dynamics
- Simulation results support the hypothesis of trend-like evolution

## Abstract

Personal reflections are given on being students of Helmut J\"urgensen. Then, we attempt to address his hypothesis that informatics follows trend-like behaviours through the use of a content analysis of university job advertisements, and then via simulation techniques from the area of quantitative economics.
