## TL;DR

This paper discusses how the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) will utilize advanced spectrographs to observe distant supernovae, providing insights into early cosmic history.

## Contribution

It highlights the potential of ELT's optical and infrared spectrographs to observe supernovae from the universe's early epochs, expanding observational capabilities.

## Key findings

- ELT will observe supernovae at large cosmological distances.
- Spectrographs enable study of supernovae from early universe.
- Potential to deepen understanding of cosmic history.

## Abstract

The large aperture and sensitive optical and near infrared imager spectrographs will enable an ELT system to observe some supernovae at large distances, deep into cosmological history when supernovae first began to occur.
