## TL;DR

This paper analyzes the process of exclusive vector meson production in heavy ion collisions at LHC energies, focusing on the space-time dynamics and providing quantitative predictions for experimental configurations.

## Contribution

It offers a detailed examination of coherent and incoherent contributions and provides explicit predictions for $
ho$-meson production in lead-lead collisions at the LHC.

## Key findings

- Quantitative predictions for $
ho$-meson differential cross sections.
- Analysis of space-time structure of the production process.
- Differentiation between coherent and incoherent contributions.

## Abstract

We discuss the salient features of exclusive vector meson production in heavy ion collisions at LHC energies. Special attention is paid to the space-time picture of the process. We account for both coherent and incoherent contributions. The explicit quantitative predictions are given for the $\rho$-meson differential cross section in lead-lead collisions in different kinematical configurations relevant for the LHCb and ALICE experiments.
