## TL;DR

This paper experimentally demonstrates that quantum key distribution can coexist with 112 Gbps data transmission in multicore fibers, ensuring telecom compatibility through proper core and wavelength allocation.

## Contribution

It provides the first experimental validation of QKD co-existing with high-speed data in multicore fibers with trench-assistant structures.

## Key findings

- QKD can coexist with 112 Gbps data in multicore fibers
- Proper core and wavelength allocation ensures telecom compatibility
- Experimental validation in both non-trench and trench-assistant fibers

## Abstract

We experimentally characterize photon leakage from 112Gbps data channels in both non-trench and trench-assistant 7-core fibers, demonstrating telecom compatibility for QKD co-existing with high-speed data transmission when a proper core/wavelength allocation is carried out.
