The correlation coefficient for vortices in the plane
Matthias Kurzke

TL;DR
This paper investigates the correlation coefficient for point vortices in the plane, demonstrating that it vanishes for all vortex equilibria, thus providing a deeper understanding of vortex interactions.
Contribution
It generalizes previous results by Esposito, showing the correlation coefficient always vanishes for vortex equilibria in the plane.
Findings
Correlation coefficient vanishes for all vortex equilibria
Generalization of Esposito's result
Enhanced understanding of vortex interactions
Abstract
For point vortices in the plane, we consider the correlation coefficient of Ovchinnikov and Sigal. Generalising a result by Esposito, we show that it vanishes for all vortex equilibria.
