F.A. Brito, F.F. Santos

TL;DR
This paper explores braneworld solutions within five-dimensional Horndeski gravity, analyzing gravity localization mechanisms, corrections to Newtonian potential, and conditions for recovering four-dimensional gravity.
Contribution
It presents new braneworld solutions in Horndeski gravity and investigates gravity localization and Newtonian potential corrections.
Findings
Gravity can be localized on the brane via almost massless modes.
Corrections to Newtonian potential are computed.
Conditions for recovering four-dimensional gravity are discussed.
Abstract
In this paper we address the issue of finding braneworld solutions in a five-dimensional Horndeski gravity and the mechanism of gravity localization into the brane via ``almost massless modes'' for suitable values of the Horndeski parameters. We compute the corrections to the Newtonian potential and discuss the limit where four-dimensional gravity is recovered.
