TL;DR
This paper explores a novel method to measure the tau lepton's electromagnetic dipole moments at the LHC by analyzing spin precession in bent crystal channels, potentially advancing precision tests of the Standard Model.
Contribution
It proposes a new experimental approach using bent crystal channels at the LHC to measure tau lepton dipole moments, which has not been previously demonstrated.
Findings
Feasibility of measuring tau dipole moments with bent crystals.
Potential to improve sensitivity of dipole moment measurements.
Method could complement existing experimental techniques.
Abstract
In this paper we discuss the possibility of measuring the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the lepton. The method consists in studying the spin precession induced by the strong effective magnetic field inside channels of a bent crystal with a dedicated setup at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.
