TL;DR
This paper investigates the production of doubly heavy baryons via top-quark decays using NRQCD, estimating event rates at the LHC and analyzing uncertainties from various parameters.
Contribution
It provides a detailed NRQCD-based calculation of doubly heavy baryon production in top decays, including multiple diquark states and uncertainty analysis, which is novel.
Findings
Estimated 2.25×10^4 to 10^6 Xi_bc events per year at LHC.
Estimated 940 to 10^4 Xi_bb events per year at LHC.
Compared NRQCD results with fragmentation function approach.
Abstract
In the paper, we present a detailed discussion on the semi-inclusive production of doubly heavy baryons ( and ) through top-quark decay channel, , within the framework of non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD). In our calculations, the contributions from the intermediate diquark states, , , and , have been taken into consideration. Main uncertainties from the heavy quark mass , the renormalization scale , and the nonperturbative transition probability have been estimated. For a comparison, we also analyze the production of doubly heavy baryons under the approximate fragmentation…
