Assigning the newly reported $\Sigma_b(6097)$ as a $P$-wave excited state and predicting its partners
Bing Chen, Xiang Liu

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the newly observed $\\Sigma_b(6097)$ as a $P$-wave excited state of bottom baryons, predicts its partners' properties, and discusses implications for future experimental identification.
Contribution
It assigns the $\\Sigma_b(6097)$ as a $1P$ state and predicts its $1P$ and $2S$ partners, including their masses and decay behaviors, extending to $\\Omega_b$ states.
Findings
$\\Sigma_b(6097)$ is explained as a $1P$ state with $J^P=5/2^-$ or $3/2^-$.
Predicted masses and decay modes for $1P$ and $2S$ partners of $\\Sigma_b(6097)$.
Predicted $\\Omega_b$ partners of $\\Sigma_b(6097)$ as $1P$ and $2S$ states.
Abstract
The newly observed provides us a good chance to further construct the high excited states of the bottom baryon family. In this work, we explain the to be a state with or by giving the mass spectrum analysis and the strong decay calculation, and predict the existence of and partners of the , where their masses and the corresponding decay behaviors are presented. Because of the success of describing the and the former observed under the quasi-two-body treatment to the bottom baryons, we continue to predict the partners of by the same method, which are the and states of the baryon system. Identifying these predicted bottom baryons will be a research topic full of challenge and opportunity for future experiments especially the LHCb.
