$\Lambda_\mathrm{c}^+$ production in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV
ALICE Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports the measurement of prompt $\\Lambda_{c}^{+}$ baryon production in Pb-Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV, revealing insights into charm quark hadronisation and medium effects in heavy-ion collisions.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed measurement of the $\\Lambda_{c}^{+}$/D$^0$ ratio and nuclear modification factor in Pb-Pb collisions at this energy, comparing with models and other collision systems.
Findings
The $\\Lambda_{c}^{+}$/D$^0$ ratio is higher in Pb-Pb than in pp and p-Pb collisions.
Models with pure coalescence reproduce the ratio, while fragmentation underestimates it.
The $R_{AA}$ hierarchy suggests recombination influences charm hadron formation.
Abstract
A measurement of the production of prompt baryons in Pb-Pb collisions at TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC is reported. The and were reconstructed at midrapidity () via the hadronic decay channel (and charge conjugate) in the transverse momentum and centrality intervals GeV/ and 0-80%. The /D ratio, which is sensitive to the charm quark hadronisation mechanisms in the medium, is measured and found to be larger than the ratio measured in minimum-bias pp collisions at TeV and in p-Pb collisions at TeV. In particular, the values in p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions differ by about two standard deviations of the combined…
