TL;DR
This paper links Type IIB supergravity solutions describing 5-brane junctions to M-theory curves, offering geometric and physical insights into the structure and regularity of these solutions.
Contribution
It establishes a direct correspondence between AdS$_6$ solutions in Type IIB and M-theory curves for 5-brane junctions, clarifying their geometric and physical interpretations.
Findings
Provides a geometric interpretation of Type IIB solutions.
Offers explicit M-theory curve solutions from Type IIB backgrounds.
Clarifies regularity conditions in the context of brane junctions.
Abstract
We establish a close relation between recently constructed AdS solutions in Type IIB supergravity, which describe the near-horizon limit of 5-brane junctions, and the curves wrapped by M5-branes in the M-theory realization of the 5-brane junctions. This provides a geometric interpretation of various objects appearing in the construction of the Type IIB solutions and a physical interpretation of the regularity conditions. Conversely, the Type IIB solutions provide explicit solutions to the equations defining the M-theory curves associated with 5-brane junctions.
