Jung Keun Ahn, Seung-il Nam

TL;DR
This study models the production of the $ ext{Xi}(1690)^-$ hyperon in $K^-p$ reactions near threshold using an effective Lagrangian approach, successfully matching experimental data and predicting angular distributions and Dalitz plot features.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive theoretical model including various channel contributions for $ ext{Xi}(1690)^-$ production, providing detailed predictions for cross sections and Dalitz plots near threshold.
Findings
Good agreement with experimental total cross sections
Predicted strong backward angle enhancement in $K^-p o K^+ ext{Xi}(1690)^-$
Dalitz plot analysis can reveal $ ext{Xi}(1690)^-$ production details
Abstract
We investigate production from the reaction within the effective Lagrangian approach at the tree-level Born approximation. We consider the - and -channel ground states and resonances for the -pole contributions, in addition to the -channel , -channel nucleon pole, and -channel -exchange for the -pole contributions. The -pole includes , , ,and . We calculate the Dalitz plot density of at 4.2 GeV) and the total cross sections for the reaction near the threshold. The calculation results are in good agreement with previously acquired experimental data. Using the parameters from the fit, we present the total and differential cross sections for the two-body…
