Studies of B$^*_\mathrm{s2}(5840)^0$ and B$_\mathrm{s1}(5830)^0$ mesons including the observation of the B$^*_\mathrm{s2}(5840)^0\to$ B$^0$K$_\mathrm{S}^0$ decay in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV
CMS Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports precise measurements of B_s meson states, including their masses, widths, and decay modes, using CMS data at 8 TeV, notably observing the B_s2* decay to B0K_S0 for the first time.
Contribution
It provides the first observation of B_s2* decay to B0K_S0 and measures the mass differences and widths of B_s meson states with high precision.
Findings
Observation of B_s2* to B0K_S0 decay
Measurement of B_s meson masses and widths
First measurement of B* meson mass difference
Abstract
Measurements of and mesons are performed using a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.6 fb, collected with the CMS detector at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. The analysis studies -wave meson decays into and , where the and mesons are identified using the decays and . The masses of the -wave meson states are measured and the natural width of the state is determined. The first measurement of the mass difference between the charged and neutral …
