Magnetic Monopoles from a Hidden Magnetic Symmetry
Adil Belhaj, Salah Eddine Ennadifi

TL;DR
This paper proposes that magnetic monopoles could originate from a new hidden U(1) magnetic symmetry, leading to massive monopoles with specific properties and potential detection prospects.
Contribution
It introduces a novel theoretical framework linking magnetic monopoles to a hidden U(1) symmetry and explores their properties and detectability.
Findings
Massive magnetic monopoles can arise from high-scale symmetry breaking.
Properties of these monopoles are characterized within the new framework.
Detection prospects are analyzed based on the monopoles' properties.
Abstract
It is proposed that Magnetic Monopoles (MMs) could originate from a new symmetry. Such an abelian symmetry is then assumed to be related to the conservation of a magnetic number . This magnetic number is associated with massive MMs from an expected high scale breaking of this magnetic symmetry. The involved scales are approached and the properties of such MMs are investigated along with the prospects for their detection.
