Alexander Span, Vahid Aref, Henning Buelow, Stephan ten Brink

TL;DR
This paper introduces a precoding technique for dual-polarized optical soliton transmission that reduces spectral correlation, enabling more effective detection in noisy fiber links.
Contribution
A novel precoding method is proposed to mitigate correlation in dual-polarized soliton transmission, improving spectral detection performance.
Findings
Significant reduction in spectral correlation achieved.
Enhanced detection capability in noisy fiber links.
Potential for improved optical communication systems.
Abstract
We consider dual-polarized optical multi-soliton pulse transmission. Modulating the nonlinear spectrum, it becomes highly correlated in noisy fiber links. We propose a simple precoding to significantly reduce the correlation, allowing disjoint detection of spectral amplitudes.
