Time dependent singularities in incompressible potential flow
Daniel Weihs

TL;DR
This paper introduces a time-dependent potential flow model for singularities like sources, extending classical solutions to dynamic scenarios, with applications such as modeling oil spill spreading on the sea surface.
Contribution
It generalizes classical source solutions to include time dependence and oncoming flow, providing a new framework for dynamic potential flow analysis.
Findings
Derived a time-dependent source flow model
Applicable to oil spill spreading scenarios
Extended classical potential flow solutions
Abstract
The flowfield resulting from a starting source type singularity is presented. This is a generalization of the classical source in potential flow to time dependent situations, including sources in oncoming flow. This model is applicable to initial spreading of oil on the surface of the sea resulting from an underwater leak
