TL;DR
This paper discusses the design and operation of a negative ion RF surface plasma source with a solenoidal magnetic field, analyzing how various parameters affect beam current and presenting a compact design.
Contribution
It introduces a compact RF surface plasma source with a solenoidal magnetic field and details its operational dependencies and design features.
Findings
Beam current depends on RF power, extraction voltage, magnetic field, and gas flow.
Operational modes include pulsed and continuous wave.
The paper presents a compact design of the RF SPS.
Abstract
Pulsed and CW operation of negative ion radio frequency surface plasma source with a solenoidal magnetic field is described. Dependences of a beam current on RF power, extraction voltage, solenoid magnetic field, gas flow are presented. Compact design of RF SPS is presented.
