The shape of the orbit in FLRW spacetimes
David Garfinkle, Lawrence R. Mead, H.I. Ringermacher

TL;DR
This paper investigates the geometric shape of free particle orbits in FLRW cosmologies, revealing a time-independent spatial projection with a straightforward geometric interpretation.
Contribution
It provides a novel geometric description of particle orbits in FLRW spacetimes and relates it to standard coordinate expressions.
Findings
Spatial projection of orbits is time-independent.
Provides a simple geometric description of orbits.
Connects geometric interpretation with FLRW coordinates.
Abstract
The shape of the orbit of a free particle is examined in FLRW cosmologies. The spatial projection of the orbit is time-independent and has a simple geometric description. We relate this description to the expression in terms of standard FLRW coordinates.
