Constraining a Lighter Exotic Scalar via Same-sign Top
Wei-Shu Hou, Masaya Kohda, Tanmoy Modak

TL;DR
This paper explores a light pseudoscalar $A^0$ in two Higgs doublet models that could enable electroweak baryogenesis, and proposes LHC searches via same-sign top production to probe its Yukawa couplings.
Contribution
It demonstrates that a relatively light $A^0$ pseudoscalar can evade current constraints and suggests a new LHC search channel to test its Yukawa coupling $ ho_{tc}$ for electroweak baryogenesis.
Findings
Light $A^0$ pseudoscalar not yet ruled out by existing data.
Proposed $cg o tA^0 o ttar c$ process as a probe for $ ho_{tc}$.
Potential to access electroweak baryogenesis mechanisms in current collider experiments.
Abstract
It was shown recently that, in two Higgs doublet models without symmetry, extra Yukawa couplings such as , can fuel enough violation for electroweak baryogenesis (EWBG). We revisit an old proposal where a pseudoscalar has mass between and thresholds. With small, it evades constraints, where approximate alignment also helps. We find this scenario with relatively light is not yet ruled out, and can probe sizable at the LHC, giving access to the second mechanism of EWBG provided by such models.
