TL;DR
This study uses lattice QCD to analyze the nucleon spin structure, decomposing it into quark and gluon contributions, and confirms the spin and momentum sum rules within current accuracy.
Contribution
It provides a lattice QCD calculation of nucleon spin decomposition with physical pion mass, confirming sum rules with improved accuracy.
Findings
Spin sum rule is satisfied within current accuracy.
Momentum sum rule is satisfied within current accuracy.
Provides insights into quark and gluon contributions to nucleon spin.
Abstract
In this lattice QCD study we evaluate the nucleon spin decomposition to quarks and gluons contributions. We employ one gauge ensemble of maximally twisted mass fermions with two degenerate light quarks tuned to approximately reproduce the physical pion mass. We find that both spin sum and momentum sum are satisfied within the current statistical and systematic accuracy.
