Features of forward $\pi N$ scattering from a Reggeized model
Kook-Jin Kong, Byung-Geel Yu

TL;DR
This paper develops a Regge-based model to analyze forward pion-nucleon scattering, successfully reproducing charge exchange and elastic scattering data up to high energies, and introduces new trajectories and corrections for improved accuracy.
Contribution
The paper introduces a novel Reggeized model incorporating Pomeron and meson exchanges, along with new trajectories and Regge cut corrections, to better describe pion-nucleon scattering data.
Findings
Charge exchange cross section dominated by single $ ho$ exchange.
Elastic scattering data well fitted with $f_2$ and Pomeron exchanges.
New Pomeron exchange model effectively describes high-energy elastic scattering.
Abstract
Charge exchange process and elastic scatterings are investigated within the Regge framework where the relativistic Born amplitude is reggeized for the -channel meson exchange. Charge exchange cross section is featured by the single exchange. Additional correction by Regge cuts, - and -Pomeron, agree with differential cross sections and new trajectory for the exchange is attempted to reproduce polarization data. For the description of elastic scattering data up to pion momentum GeV/c, Pomeron exchange of the Donnachie-Landshoff type is newly constructed and applied in this work. Elastic cross section data are well reproduced with the dominance of and Pomeron exchanges in intermediate and high energies. Analysis of nucleon resonances is presented to test the validity of the…
