Charged Kaon multiplicities of Semi-inclusive DIS off the deuteron target
Chung-Wen Kao, Dong-Jing Yang, Wen-Chen Chang

TL;DR
This paper compares charged kaon multiplicity data from HERMES and COMPASS experiments off deuteron targets, analyzing discrepancies and evaluating the DSS2017 fragmentation functions against experimental results.
Contribution
It provides a detailed comparison of experimental data sets and assesses the accuracy of the DSS2017 fragmentation functions in describing the data.
Findings
Discrepancies between HERMES and COMPASS data are not due to $Q^2$ differences.
DSS2017 fragmentation functions do not fully agree with HERMES data.
Empirical parametrization shows limitations in current theoretical models.
Abstract
We investigate the results of the charged kaon multiplicities off the deuteron target from HERMES and COMPASS experiments. The discrepancy of the two data sets cannot be explained by different values. Furthermore we examine the empirical parametrization of the fragmentation functions, DSS2017, and find that the agreement between the theoretical predictions and the HERMES data is less satisfactory as claimed.
