TL;DR
This paper calculates branching ratios and CP asymmetries for specific B meson decays involving the $f_2(1270)$ resonance using perturbative QCD, aligning well with experimental data and providing predictions for future tests.
Contribution
It introduces a perturbative QCD approach with a two-pion distribution amplitude to analyze quasi-two-body B decays involving the $f_2(1270)$ resonance, including final state interactions.
Findings
Decay rates are between 10^{-9} and 10^{-6}.
Integrated CP asymmetries match BABAR and Belle data.
Provides predictions for unmeasured decay modes.
Abstract
In this work, we calculate the -averaged branching ratios and direct -violating asymmetries of the quasi-two-body decays with the two-pion distribution amplitude by using the perturbative QCD factorization approach, where represents a light pseudoscalar meson and . The relativistic Breit-Wigner formula for the -wave resonance is adopted to parameterize the timelike form factor , which contains the final state interactions between the pions in the resonant regions. The consistency of theoretical results with data can be achieved by determining the Gegenbauer moments of the -wave two-pion distribution amplitudes. The decay rates for the considered decay modes are generally in the order of to . The integrated direct asymmetries for the…
