Symmetry Breaking of Kramers-Henneberger Atoms by Ponderomotive Force
Qi Wei

TL;DR
This paper reveals that the dichotomous structure of Kramers-Henneberger atoms in superintense laser fields is broken by ponderomotive force in focused laser setups, challenging previous assumptions about their structure.
Contribution
It demonstrates that ponderomotive force in focused laser fields alters the structure of Kramers-Henneberger atoms, contradicting earlier beliefs of their dichotomy.
Findings
Ponderomotive force breaks the dichotomous structure of KH atoms.
Focused laser fields differ from idealized models in atomic structure.
The study challenges previous assumptions about KH atom behavior.
Abstract
It was believed that Kramers-Henneberger atoms in superintense laser field exhibit structure of "dichotomy". However this is not true for focused laser field. Because in focused laser, KH state electrons experience ponderomotive force, which will break the dichotomous structure.
