Janus ABJM Models with Mass Deformation
Kyung Kiu Kim, O-Kab Kwon

TL;DR
This paper constructs a broad class of mass-deformed Janus ABJM models with spatially varying mass parameters, linking them to M2-branes in backgrounds with self-dual 4-form flux, advancing understanding of supersymmetric gauge theories with spatially dependent parameters.
Contribution
It introduces a new class of ${ m extbf{N}}=3$ Janus ABJM models with mass deformation depending on spatial or lightcone coordinates, and relates them to M2-branes in specific flux backgrounds.
Findings
Constructed ${ m extbf{N}}=3$ Janus ABJM models with spatially varying mass.
Identified these models with effective actions of M2-branes in self-dual 4-form backgrounds.
Demonstrated the models' consistency with supersymmetry and string/M-theory frameworks.
Abstract
We construct a large class of Janus ABJM models with mass deformation, where the mass depends on a spatial (or lightcone) coordinate. We also show that the resulting Janus model can be identified with an effective action of M2-branes in the presence of a background self-dual 4-form field strength varying along one spatial (or lightcone) coordinate.
