TL;DR
This paper reports a precise measurement of $CP$ asymmetries in $B^0$ decays to $D^{ m ext{mp}} ext{ extpm}$ and $ ext{ extpm}$, using LHCb data, to improve constraints on the CKM parameters $\beta$ and $\gamma$.
Contribution
The paper provides the most precise measurements to date of $CP$ asymmetries in $B^0 \to D^{\mp}\pi^{\pm}$ decays, refining constraints on CKM angles $\beta$ and $\gamma$.
Findings
Measured $S_f = 0.058 \pm 0.020 \text{(stat)} \pm 0.011 \text{(syst)}$
Measured $S_{\bar{f}} = 0.038 \pm 0.020 \text{(stat)} \pm 0.007 \text{(syst)}$
Results are consistent with current world-average values.
Abstract
A measurement of the asymmetries and in decays is reported. The decays are reconstructed in a dataset collected with the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The asymmetries are measured to be and . These results are in agreement with, and more precise than, previous determinations. They are used to constrain and to intervals that are consistent with the current world-average values.
