Nan Zhang, Xuejiao Zhao, Xiaopei He

TL;DR
This paper proposes a theoretical framework linking information architecture and business models to understand IoT and smart community development as configurations of both factors.
Contribution
It introduces a novel theoretical framework that integrates information architecture and business model patterns for analyzing smart community development.
Findings
Framework clarifies the relationship between information architecture and business models.
Highlights the importance of configurations in IoT and smart communities.
Provides a basis for future empirical validation.
Abstract
Based on the dualism of information architecture and business model by Kuk and Janssen (2011), the study proposed a theoretical framework to understanding the relationship among IoT and smart community which regards a path of smart community development as a configurations set including both information architecture factors and business model patterns.
