## TL;DR

This paper emphasizes the role of basis invariants in the two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM), introducing a technique to relate potential parameters to physical masses and couplings, with applications to CP violation analysis.

## Contribution

It presents a novel method to translate 2HDM potential parameters into physical observables using basis invariants, aiding CP violation studies.

## Key findings

- Basis invariants effectively characterize 2HDM properties.
- The technique simplifies the analysis of CP-odd invariants.
- Application to CP violation enhances understanding of 2HDM phenomenology.

## Abstract

We discuss the importance of basis invariants in the general 2HDM and how these relates to masses and couplings. We also present a simple, yet powerful technique to translate parameters of the potential into combinations of masses and couplings of the theory and apply this to CP odd invariants.
