## TL;DR

This paper reviews how VLBI techniques can improve the localization and understanding of radio transients, discussing current arrays and strategies despite challenges in rapid data analysis and observation coordination.

## Contribution

It provides an overview of VLBI arrays and observing strategies for radio transient studies, highlighting current capabilities and challenges.

## Key findings

- VLBI offers precise localization of radio transients.
- Current arrays enable long- and short-duration transient observations.
- VLBI faces practical challenges in rapid data analysis and observation scheduling.

## Abstract

The technique of Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) can provide accurate localization and unique physical information about radio transients. However, it is still underutilized due to the inherent difficulties of VLBI data analysis and practical difficulties of organizing observations on short notice. We present a brief overview of the currently available VLBI arrays and observing strategies used to study long- and short-duration radio transients.
