Oriented Convex Containers of Polygons
R Nandakumar

TL;DR
This paper explores the problem of optimally fitting polygonal regions into convex containers that have a specified orientation, introducing preliminary results on the properties and constraints of such oriented containment.
Contribution
It presents the first analysis of oriented convex containers for polygons, focusing on the implications of fixed directional preferences for containment problems.
Findings
Preliminary results on oriented convex containment
Insights into directional constraints for polygon containment
Foundations for future optimization algorithms
Abstract
We consider the optimal containment of polygonal regions within convex containers with the special property of 'orientedness' - an oriented region enables us to choose a preferred direction on the plane (this direction is not necessarily an axis of symmetry) - and derive preliminary results.
