TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel method to extract the CKM matrix element |V_{cb}| from two-body hadronic B decays using form factors from semi-leptonic decays, providing consistent results with potential for reduced uncertainties.
Contribution
The paper presents a new approach to determine |V_{cb}| from B decay processes leveraging form factors from semi-leptonic decays, including effects of hadronic final state interactions.
Findings
Extracted |V_{cb}| values: (37±6)×10^{-3}, (41±7)×10^{-3}, (42±9)×10^{-3}.
Method utilizes isospin relations and recent precise form factor measurements.
Uncertainties expected to decrease with future experiments and lattice calculations.
Abstract
We propose a method of extracting the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element from two-body hadronic decay processes of with precisely determined form factors of meson semi-leptonic decays. The amplitude which does not include the effect of hadronic final state interactions can be theoretically evaluated by using factorization and form factors of semi-leptonic B decays. We can obtain all the amplitudes in an isospin relation including the effect of hadronic final state interactions as well as using the experimental data of branching fractions of these three processes with a truncation of the states which contribute to the hadronic final state interactions. The extracted value of is $(37\pm 6)\times…
