TL;DR
This study investigates the potential existence of a strangeonium-like state $Z_s$ decaying into $\,phi\, ext{pi}$ in $e^+e^-$ collisions at 2.125 GeV, measures relevant cross sections, and finds no evidence for $Z_s$.
Contribution
The paper provides the first search for the $Z_s$ state decaying into $\,phi\, ext{pi}$ at this energy and reports precise measurements of the cross sections for related processes.
Findings
No $Z_s$ signal observed in the $\,phi\, ext{pi}$ spectrum.
Upper limits set on $Z_s$ production cross sections.
Measured cross sections for $e^+e^- ightarrow\,phi\, ext{pi}\, ext{pi}$ processes at 2.125 GeV.
Abstract
Using a data sample of collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 108 pb collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 2.125 GeV, we study the process and search for a strangeoniumlike structure decaying into . No signal is observed in the mass spectrum. Upper limits on the cross sections for production at the 90\% confidence level are determined. In addition, the cross sections of and at 2.125 GeV are measured to be pb and pb, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic.
