On the Broadcast Rate of Index Coding Problems with Symmetric and Consecutive Interference
Mahesh Babu Vaddi, B. Sundar Rajan

TL;DR
This paper establishes bounds and constructs near-optimal vector linear index codes for symmetric and consecutive interference index coding problems, extending previous work on neighboring interference and deriving capacities for specific cases.
Contribution
It introduces a method to convert SUICP(SCI) into SUICP(SNI) and constructs near-optimal codes, providing bounds and capacity results for these classes.
Findings
Derived a lower bound on broadcast rate for SUICP(SCI)
Constructed near-optimal vector linear index codes for SUICP(SCI)
Provided upper bounds and capacity results for special cases
Abstract
A single unicast index coding problem (SUICP) with symmetric and consecutive interference (SCI) has messages and receivers, the th receiver wanting the th message and having interference and side-information . In this paper, we derive a lowerbound on the broadcast rate of single unicast index coding problem with symmetric and consecutive interference (SUICP(SCI)). In the SUICP(SCI), if , we refer this as single unicast index coding problem with symmetric and neighboring interference (SUICP(SNI)). In our previous work\cite{VaR5}, we gave the construction of near-optimal vector linear index codes for SUICP(SNI) with arbitrary . In this paper, we convert the SUICP(SCI) into SUICP(SNI) and give the construction…
