Chlo\'e Perin, Rizos Sklinos

TL;DR
This paper characterizes forking independence in free groups of finite rank using JSJ decompositions relative to parameters, providing a comprehensive understanding of model-theoretic independence in this algebraic context.
Contribution
It offers a complete characterization of forking independence in free groups via JSJ decompositions, advancing the understanding of model theory in algebraic structures.
Findings
Forking independence characterized by JSJ decompositions
Applicable to free groups of finite rank
Enhances understanding of model-theoretic properties
Abstract
We give a complete characterization of the forking independence relation over any set of parameters in the free groups of finite rank, in terms of the decompositions relative to those parameters.
