TL;DR
This paper reports on the measurement of D$_{ m_{S}}$ meson production, elliptic flow, and nuclear modification factors in Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV, revealing enhanced production and flow patterns compared to non-strange D mesons and p+p collisions.
Contribution
First measurement of D$_{ m_{S}}$ meson yields, flow, and nuclear modification factors in Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV, highlighting strangeness enhancement in open charm production.
Findings
D$_{ m_{S}}$ yields are higher than K$^{0}_{ m_{S}}$ yields.
D$_{ m_{S}}$ production is substantially enhanced compared to p+p collisions.
Elliptic flow of D$_{ m_{S}}$ is comparable to that of D$^{0}$.
Abstract
We present the invariant yield and elliptic flow of D as a function of transverse momentum in Au+Au collisions at = 200 GeV. The nuclear modification factors of D are found to be systematically higher than those of K . The ratio between the yields of strange and non-strange open charm mesons is shown. We find that such a ratio in 0-40 central Au+Au collisions is higher than the fragmentation baseline. Our measurement indicates a substantial enhancement of D production in Au+Au collisions with respect to p+p collisions as compared to non-strange D mesons. The elliptic flow of D is also measured and compared to that of D as well as model calculations.
