Gaia 1 cannot be a Thick Disk Galactic cluster
Giovanni Carraro (Padova University)

TL;DR
This paper argues that Gaia 1 cannot be classified as a Thick Disk Galactic cluster due to flawed assumptions and overlooked observational evidence regarding the disk's structure, warp, and flare.
Contribution
It challenges previous claims about Gaia 1's membership in the Thick Disk by highlighting structural misconceptions and observational oversights.
Findings
Gaia 1's classification as a Thick Disk cluster is unsupported
The structure of the Galactic disk includes warp and flare features
Previous membership claims are based on incorrect assumptions
Abstract
In this note I show how the recently suggested membership of the open cluster Gaia 1 to the Galactic thick disk is based on incorrect assumptions about the structure of the disk itself, and neglect well-known observational evidences on the disk warp and flare.
